Mainly from here ==> http://www.jeephorizons.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=953

as well as here ==> http://www.jeephorizons.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=962

Seems they have been copy, pasted and morphed onto a whole bunch of other sites lately too....it recently came to my attention that it was pasted over on Pirate too http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?p=8608201

I really don't care....except when people take credit for work that someone else did. ;)

custom building upper and/or lower control arms heres your specs

Here is a chart to help you figure what length your arms need to be at certain heights. Control arms lengths are important for castor and location of axle in the wheel wells. At 3", you will be ok with stock arms, just expect the axle to move back toward the cab a little and some minor bumpsteer.

little extra info

material= 1.75" od DOM 1/4" wall minimum.

for bushings you can use stock clevite bushings, but i like to use rubicon express superride buidler bushings.

if you want something with a little more atriculation over a bushing i like currie jhonny joints or rubicon express superflex joints.

just remember you need a 2.63" width and 9/16" bolt.

you can also make them adjustable with some threaded joints and tube inserts.

Here is another great link for anyone looking for a Jeep XJ Factory Service Manual. Found the FSM for my 94 Jeep XJ and it's a dream come true! Much more thorough than a Haynes or Chilton's.
