Coal Creek
Coal Creek Mining & Manufacturing Company (CCMMC) has arranged to have the OHV area managed by Windrock ATV Club. They are responsible for mapping, maintaining and clearly marking all trails.
The trail head is usually staffed by the Windrock ATV Club Saturday and Sunday from 8:00am until 2:00pm. You can purchase your land use permit from them at the trail head and also get a map to the entire riding area.
One day permits are $10.00
Yearly permits are $ 50.00
The parking area for the trail head can accommodate very large groups, and has plenty of room for RV parking and primitive camping. There is no fee for parking or camping.

Tellico ORV Area
The Upper Tellico ORV Area lies in the southern reaches of the Great Smokey Mountains, in the Nantahala National Forest. Located between Tellico Plains, TN & Murphy, NC, the Telico OHV Area is famous for being some of the best 4x4 offroading in the country. Helicopter Pad, School Bus, Slick Rock, Rock Garden & Guardrail all conjure up visions of vertical walls, huge boulders, and steep hill climbs with just enough muddy rocks for slippery fun. Just driving to the trails takes you past places like Hanging Dog, Beaver Dam, Bear Pen and Log Loader. With names like that, you know this place has got some history & stories to tell! Whether you'&re into mild or wild trails, these Appalachian Mountains got have you covered. Home of some great off road events such as the Appalachian Jeep Jamboree, Smokey Mtn Venture, Dixie Run, GSMTR and our own Tellico 4x4 Annual Trail Rides. Join us sometime for a healthy supply of Southern hospitality, and some Great Smokey Mountain four-wheeling.
