Mobile Antennas
Trust me more antenna info than you ever need to look at.
This is an area of hot competition among antenna manufactures. I am not going to cover how to mount your mobile antenna (Radio Shack sells everything you need to mount antennas), but the basic mobile antenna designs that most mobile antennas manufactures are using today. If you have just started reading my page and are new to antennas, you are going to be confused. You cannot just jump right into putting together an antenna without learning a few things about them first. You have to read "Antennas Basics", "Coax Basics" and the "Verticals" sections first before you tackle this section. First we need to introduce a new term that we will be using to rate mobile antennas (gain really isn't a good thing to use, since mobile antennas generally have no gain), "antenna efficiency". This is how well the antenna converts your power (watts) to signal instead of wasting it as heat. An efficient antenna puts most of the power out as signa Domain: http://www.signalengineering.com Rating: (0/5)

TJ CB install
I needed to install a CB in my `99 Jeep Wrangler, but was at a little bit of loss on how to do this. I mean, I knew how, but not where to put everything. So I searched on the Internet and some of the parts sites that are out there. I ran across Turbo City and found that I liked both of their CB radio and antenna mounts. So I ordered the parts and waited about a week. When they arrived, I opened the packages and liked what I saw at first. The radio mount was perfect, fit and finish were great, however, their antenna mount left something to be desired. It had two threaded sections welded onto the back, but did not include a template on where to drill the holes in the body tub. Domain: http://www.thebensons.org Rating: (0/5)
