Jeep Heater Blower Motor Upgrade
The Chevy Blazer heater motor upgrade for Jeep CJs and Wranglers has been bouncing around the net for as long as I can remember. It is remarkably easy and it greatly increases the air flow through the heating system. When my heater core began leaking like a sieve, I figured it was a good time to do the upgrade.
This upgrade works for '78-'86 CJs as well as '87-'90 Wranglers. Some of the CJs built in 1977 used the old style heater housing with the heater motor behind the dash. I haven't heard of anyone doing this upgrade with the old style heater housing or with a Wrangler built after 1990. Any 1977 CJ with a heater motor sticking out of the fire wall will be able to do this upgrade. Domain: http://www.off-road.com Rating: (0/5)

Jeep Wrangler Seat Track Release Cable Repair
Like many of you, my TJ is more than just a vehicle to transport me through the wilderness, it’s a daily driver too and if you have a kid (or kids), the passenger seat will get to see a lot of use. Sliding and tumbling your seats forward using the nifty little strap on the side makes it convenient for rear passengers to get in and out of your Jeep but will ultimately causes a cable operating this mechanism to fail. When mine finally broke, I would have taken it in to the dealer to have it fixed but like many of you, I was just about 1,000 miles over warranty, go figure? Anyway, this write-up explains what I did to fix it. Domain: http://www.4x4xplor.com Rating: (0/5)

MagLite Magnetic Mount
I had bought MagLite brackets a while ago in the hopes of eventually mounting my Maglite (that was currently rolling around on the floor behind my seat) somewhere in my Jeep. I'&d had thoughts of zip-tying the brackets to the roll bar but I never got around to it. As luck would have it..... Domain: http://www.4x4xplor.com Rating: (5/5)

Mustang Seats in your CJ or YJ
I used seats from an 88 Ford Mustang. I did some research and I found that 76-95 CJ/YJs have the same exact seat floor bracket/riser. I had my friend at a Ford dealership parts department check their computer to find out which 'Stang seats are compatible. All 86-94 Mustangs use the same seat pattern. Therefore, all seats from 86-94 Mustangs will fit in all 76-95 CJ/YJs by following the procedure below. Domain: http://www.jeepaholics.com Rating: (0/5)

O-R FAB Sport Cage
To Cage or Not to Cage?
That has been the question on many Jeepers' minds for ages. When trying to answer this question, the first thing we need to do is define what we want to accomplish and why.
For many years, the tubular framework inside a Jeep has been referred to as a "roll cage." To be more politically correct and to change consumers' mindset in recent years, the phrase "roll cage" has been replaced with "sport bar" or other similar phrases. This was also done to keep the auto manufacturers out of hot water, in case of lawsuits.
No matter which words you use to describe it, the general purpose of the cage is to offer some level of protection to the occupants of the Jeep. The level of protection could vary from keeping low-flying branches out of your face to keeping your body contained within the Jeep while tumbling down a 2,000-foot cliff-side.
The level of protection you choose is going to depend on the type of wheeling you do. Domain: http://www.rockcrawler.com Rating: (5/5)

Raingler Balistic Grips
I recently purchased a pair of Raingler Balistic Grips from raingler.com to assist my wife getting into the Jeep.
I have no lift yet and I plan on doing a 3" of some sort next year. My wife (being rather short) can't get in as it is in a skirt without flashing everyone who happens to be looking.

Remote Throttle
Once I installed my winch, I realized that if I wanted to have extra convenience, I would need to install something that would allow me to raise the idle speed to charge the battery during and after winching. By raising the engine speed to somewhere around 2000 r.p.m., the alternator will charge the battery if it needs it, and also generate power during winching operations to reduce the load on the battery.
While it might be possible to accomplish this by simply holding one's foot on the gas pedal, it is not very convenient and in some instances might not be possible. So before I found myself in a position to need such a feature, I went ahead and tackled the problem. The most common solution that I have found to this problem is the installation of a bike shifter and cable that is mounted to the stick-shift lever and attached to the throttle body. It is a nice solution and is popular for obvious reasons. The parts are easy to locate, cheap to buy, and easy to install. Domain: http://4x4icon.com Rating: (0/5)

Seat Heaters
Install details for Rostra seat heaters
After having heated seats in my wife's car, we had become spoiled on cool evening and winter mornings. Riding around with the roof open and the seat heaters on is the only way to go on those cooler days. Since the Jeep leaves you pretty exposed with the top off, we found that we got too cold for the heater to keep up with once the temps dropped to around 60.

In fact, this part doesn’t even show up on their computer diagrams and so the parts guys didn’t have a clue as to what to look for. This cable doesn’t even show up in the FSM but a brief mention is made and calls it a Seat Track Release Cable Domain: http://www.4x4xplor.com Rating: (4/5)

Sound Proof your Jeep
Jeep owners for the most part don't buy them for the quiet ride or sports car handling. With the numerous upgrades that we perform, slowly the interior noise level starts getting louder and louder. Those new mud tires, bigger lift, and high-flow exhaust systems all have an affect on how loud the ride is inside the Jeep as well as outside. One easy upgrade that you can do to combat this is to apply spray-on bedliner and sound proofing material. Domain: http://www.4x4wire.com Rating: (0/5)

Steering Wheel Leather Replacement
When we purchased the WJ, not only do we look at the mechanical condition and operation of the vehicle, but the overall condition such as the wear and tear on the interior. On every WJ I test drove that was at least a few years old, it never failed that the steering wheel covers were always in bad shape. Granted this not a deal breaker nor makes it un-drivable, but if your steering wheel is somewhat distorted to the touch, it can be a bit of a nuisance. We looked at several steering wheel wraps, and the selection via wally world does not really keep the OEM like style we were wanting. After several searches online, we discovered WheelSkins.com. They had exactly what we wanted and their choice of colors and styles made it an easy choice for the rig.

Swapping a CJ Dashboard into a YJ
I REALLY hated the YJ dash in my Jeep, and from looking at many a CJ, I had dashboard envy. The metal, big speedometer, the real grab bar, etc. Knowing that the tubs are often interchanged from YJs to CJs, I knew that the dashboards were a bolt in, but figured there'&d be lots of changes that would be required. Just say NO to plastic! Domain: http://www.off-road.com Rating: (0/5)
