Don't let the name fool you! Virtue Flat, just east of Baker City, Oregon, is one of the best 4-wheeling places in the state, maybe THE best on the east side of Oregon, but few people realize it. This designated OHV area consists of approximately 6 square miles of steep rolling hills, sagebrush-covered flats, old mine tailings, twisting dry gulches, and several rocky ravines.
This area was set aside by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in 1975 specifically for Off-Highway Vehicle recreation, and continues to be the favorite playground of motorcyclists, quad ATV's, and four-wheel drives, as well as mountain bikes and others. Because the area was set aside for intensive OHV recreation, you can roam and explore to your content, exploring crosscountry or discovering new trails.
