Troubleshoot Your Fuel Gauge
If the gauge pointer does not move from empty, check the fuse. If the fuse is OK, locate the sender unit. Connect the sending unit connector to ground. If the pointer goes to the full position replace the sending unit. If the pointer stays in same position, use a jumper wire to ground the terminal on the back of gauge. If the pointer moves, the problem lies in the wire between the gauge and the sending unit. If the pointer does not move with the back of the gauge grounded, check for voltage at the other terminal of the gauge. If voltage is present, replace the gauge

Turn Signal Switch Replacement
The TJ had a problem with the turn signal. On left turn and on the brakes the back of the jeep looked like a tow truck - every light was flashing. After figuring out that the switch was the problem (and a common problem with TJ's) I ran over to my buddy at Jeep to get me a switch. After reading the shop manual on how to take it out I decided to talk to my brother who installs car stereos and alarms because there were some steps that did not make sense to me. So here is the modified way of doing it.

Warn Winch Remote Switch
A remote switch on the dash for your winch is an accessory that most people want and fewer get around to installing. Having control of your winch inside the comfort of your cab has many benefits including not having to fumble around with the factory hand controller. Start this project by going to your local hardware store or Radio Shack.
The first thing you need to do is decide where you want your winch remote switch. Our Grand Cherokee didn't come with all the bells and whistles available so it had a blank spot next to the rear wiper, defroster and overdrive switch. This provided an open spot begging for our project switch. Gaining access to this control module might seem like a lot of work but it only takes a few minutes to pull the trim pieces off and unscrew the dash cover.

YJ ECU Reset
When you install a new engine part (from the airbox to the tail pipe) or even buy a used YJ it is best to reset the engine computer (ECU). This can be done very simply by erasing the Adaptive Memory. The Adaptive Memory learns about your engine and your driving habits during the first 50 engine warmups
