Home made ladder-type traction bar
After the spring-over conversion my rear end had a pretty bad axle wrap whenever I got on the throttle and it was threatening to destroy my u-joints pretty quickly. As a temporary fix I installed an extra set of full-length leafs from an old 4" spring pack. This however made the jeep ride very stiff in the rear and reduced flex quite a bit. So the plan was made to fabricate a traction bar so I can use the original softer spring setup. I decided on the ladder bar type traction bar (like Sam's Offroad's or MORE's design) as being the most effective design in my opinion. Domain: http://mywebpages.comcast.net Rating: (0/5)

Inside the XJ D30
I put these pics up to help people visualize the inner workings of the d30 Disco axle. Also, I think the pics show the dramatic difference between the disco side and non disco axles - a good reason to not hate the disco axle so much! Domain: http://www.rightcoastcrawler.com Rating: (0/5)

Install Warn Axle Shafts in a Dana 30
Building the Ultimate Jeep Wrangler Dana 30 - Warn Axle Shafts. At the time I ordered my hub conversion kit it was available with either Spicer 260X or 297X U-joints. I would have liked to upgrade to the larger size U-joints but at the time there was just no easy way to do it. I had been told the 1995 Wranglers came with the larger size but I would have had to come up with an inner axle shaft for both sides. Jeep XJ Cherokees also used a Dana 30 front axle and some were available with a 1-piece passenger side inner axle (instead of the vacuum disconnect 2 piece) but I was never able to get a definite answer if they would be a bolt in swap.
Warn now offers a kit to convert the axle to a 5 on 5 1/2 bolt circle using premium hubs and a modified CJ brake rotor. I really wish this had been available since my rear axle shafts are drilled with both bolt patterns. Domain: http://www.4x4wire.com Rating: (0/5)

Ladder Bar
I had alittle problem with "Wheel Hop" while on loose dirt,
so after talking with friends on Off-Roads SWB BBS
at offroad.com iv'&e decided to build a single "Ladder Bar"
with a shackle on the forward end to eliminate axle wrap
but not limit suspension articulation. Domain: http://www.geocities.com Rating: (0/5)

Lock-Right install for Dana 30
When on the trail it is important to have traction. One way to achieve maximum traction is a differential "locker". A locker essentially locks an axle together and allows full power to both wheels. There are many products on the market that lock your differential in different ways from selective to full time. PowerTrax offers an easy to install and affordable way to a lock your axle with their Lock-Right system. Unlike most expensive lockers that require you to replace your carrier and re-set your gears, Lock-Right replaces your spider gears inside your carrier with no special tools and no need to have your gears re-set. Lockright install
Here's a little writeup to help with the LockRight install. First off, the instructions are quite adequate for the non-professional wrenchers. Make sure you have RTV silicone or the proper gasket for the front cover and a quart or so (or whatever the manual says) of gear lube to refill the diff. Took me most of the day but I finally got it done. By putting a couple of valves in the front axle vacuum lines I can connect/disconnect the front axle (almost) at will. Domain: http://www.bc4x4.com Rating: (0/5)

Lube Locker
Submitted by: MoabJeeper Magazine
Every now and then a product comes along that is so simple in concept you can’t help but smack yourself in the forehead and say “Why didn’t I think of that?” The “Lube Locker” is one such product.
So what is it? The Lube Locker is simply a thin metal band with 3 rows of an elastomer (rubber) laid down upon it. Domain: http://www.moabjeeper.com Rating: (0/5)
