Clover Patch Window Roll

After you drop your top and relize the top down is the only way to drive a Jeep during the summer months. Heck its been 4-years for myself and I love every minute of it from Mothers Day up until the end of September.

The question I hear from every new Jeep owner as well its the same question I see on many and I mean many forums is what do you do with your side windows and the rear window? I roll up the rear window and keep it with my soft top because its easier to roll up then it is to remove and store. The side windows for me have always been a concern up until the steel doors come off and Im out of the garage. The poor windows layed on a piece of cardboard or up until recently have been laying on my door hanger. Just out of the blue Fatboys Offroad contacted me and asked if I would be interested in a window roll. Like most I thought what the heck is that? Well my curiousity got the best of me and I gave it a try.

None Approximately 5 minutes not including window cleaning time.

Currently I am storing my windows on top of my window rack and I couldn't be happier. Ive yet to unpack my windows since Ive placed them in the roll a few weeks back. I did grab my full steel doors today because it was pouring down rain. Luckly the windjammer was installed and I threw on my full doors with my bikini and duster. The rolled up windows where simply moved off the rack all protected in their little roll. Not only does the roll keep your windows clean, and safe, but makes for a quick move from the wall to whereever your traveling with them.

Im sure your just like me. Whereever the windows can lay will lay. Mine are just laying on top of my steel doors on my garage wall.

In the box you'll find everything rolled up nice and tidy in a plastic bag. There are even very explicit instructions on how to roll up your windows.
DSCN4778.JPG
Keeping the roll tight is a high quality strap and long velcro strips just in case you can't tighten it right the first time.
DSCN4779.JPG
The roll is comprised of 4 sheets of fabric
DSCN4780.JPG
Keeping the 4 sheets together looks like a thick piece of canvas with tons of stitching. This thing is not coming apart.
DSCN4782.JPG
Lay the windows in on the fabric. Keep in mind you want each window to have its own layer. Its best to insure your windows are clean so the next time you open up the roll your fabric is not dirty.
DSCN4786.JPG
Roll the windows up starting from the open end towards the sewn end.
DSCN4787.JPG
Rap the windo roll up with the supplied velcro straps. You do not have to have the windows tight. The bag looks plenty big enough.
DSCN4789.JPG
Slid the roll into the black nylon bag.
DSCN4790.JPG
Both ends of the bag have a draw string so you can insure the ends are nice and tight and most inportantly closed.
DSCN4791.JPG
Slide the lock down on each end and the bag is ready for transport or storage.
DSCN4793.JPG
Now my windows are out of harms way. Normally I have to clean them due to dust or simply because they fell on the ground.
DSCN4793a.JPG
On each end of the bag there is a clip clasp so you can wrap it around your roll cage or any other place you'd like to keep it attached.
DSCN4793b.JPG
Pull the excess strap snug.
DSCN4794.JPG
After you have it snug wrap the remaining strap under the snug strap and your good to go. The bag illustrates the roll behind the rear seat, but I have to be different when I can. =)

Q. Is the bag enough to fit the rear window?
From the looks of it the rear window would have no problems fitting.
Q. Would the side windows of an Unlimited fit?
The side windows of the Unlimted would fit. There is plenty of room beyond what the standard windows.
Q. What happens after you open up the window roll? Does the windows get creased?
A. After my window roll layed in my garage through most of the summer in the heat I opened it up and below is what I saw. I have no doubts in the window roll now and I'll be a user for here on out.

DSCN4956.JPG
When the roll is opened up there is a little bit of resistance since the window has been rolled up and kept in the bag over the last few months.
DSCN4957.JPG
When the window is removed from the bag it imediately began to unroll on its own. There doesn't appear to be any creases or wrinkles in the window.

The edge that slides into the door surround appears to be competely uneffected.
