Hi-Lift Handle Keeper
Since Hi-Lifts have been around they have been one of two things. A great
poor mans recovery gear and a dangerous tool if not used correctly that could
hurt you if not used correctly. I've seen countless times where somebody has
used the jack to lift their vehicle and never held the handle taking a chance
that the handle was going to stay in the place where it was left. For a few
years I've kept a piece of rope on my handle to tie off my jack when/If I
had to use it.
I was talking with Jerry over at FatBoysOffroad,
which is very close to Hi-Lift themselves. A product has been out for a while
and thought I should take a look at it. A few days later this package arrives
and its a single piece of Poly cut out to fit the Hi-Lift Jack. Of course
I threw it on and my initial thought was well it fits. Ok now what? A piece
of rope can do the samething. So can a bungee cord or a piece of velcro.

Needless to say after fighting with my piece of rope for 5minutes it became very evident that if I was in a hurry I would be in trouble. Ropes get in knots, bungee cords are loaded weapons waiting to hit you in the face. Velcro straps when they get full of dirt and grime they stop working. This Poly Handle-Holder doesn't care if its muddy, wet, faded its still going to slide on. Also when your using your Jack its a snap to slide back over the handle and keep it from flinging down and hurting yourself or somebody else that is trying to help you. Q. Is the Handle Holder snug?
A. From what I've noticed its not snug however it will not allow the handle
and Jack to clang against each other.
Q. What happened to the piece of rope?
A. I've decided to wrap the Handle like I had it before, but with less wraps
so I can use it for some other trail side fix.=)
