York Gasket and O-Ring Replacement Click here for PDF

When I opened up my Junkyard York 210 I noticed that the top gasket was missing. I did a little leg work and found out there are actually two gaskets on the top of the York 210. Brad Kilby suggested I should rebuild it with their gasket kit. "EF210R-KIT" I figured I needed it because of missing gaskets and for around 20bucks I couldn't go wrong. I'm planning on building an entire system and if I'm depending on a Junkyard Compressor I might as well make sure its as sound as I can.

Tools: Time:
Ratchet
3/8ths Socket
1/2in Socket
Flat tip Screw Driver
Approximately 60minutes. I would of been done sooner if IBTJn didn't call and try to inform me of a Tow Rig I couldn't afford anyways. =)

This process was rather easy. Just time consuming making sure everything is clean and put together properly. The most important part is having a clean work space and good lighting. Written by kizer, if you have any questions or comments about this install visit

The gasket kit includes the following
Crank Case gasket
Valve Plate gasket
Crank Shaft gasket
2 - Fill plug gasket
2 - Flange style gaskets
2 - Rotolock style gaskets

The Valve Plate gasket is make out of a metallic material and has a concave surface.

First off layout everything on a clean workplace. You do not want debris inside the compressor when you take it apart.

Using a 3/8 socket remove the 4 bolts holding on clutch.

Using a 1/4 remove the 6 bolts to access behind to change the crankshaft O-Ring

Well I wasn't able to change the Crank O-Ring. a striped bolt kicked my butt so I decided to stop before I made issues worse.

Use a 1/2 socket to remove the head bolts.

If you look closely you will see there are Pieces. The Head, Valve plate and the Cylinder.

Remove the head and gasket if you had one.

Remove the Valve plate and gasket if you had one.

If there was a gasket and you removed it make sure you clean the surface as clean as possible. I used some brake cleaner on a rag to remove any surface debris.

Also for those of you who want or think you need to perform the oil fix. See the hole near the bottom right? Thats the hole you need to plug.
